We caught up with Mosconi Cup Euro team member Steve Davis (aka Romford Slim) at the 2001 World Pool Masters at the Lakeside shopping centre in Essex. True to his reputation as a 'nice guy' he gave his time for this interview,
and had a few interesting things to say...
On how he started playing 9 ball:
"Terry Griffiths and myself played Jim Rempe and Mike Siegel, and thought the game was easy...although we lost of course"
On whether more professional snooker players will be taking the game seriously:
"There were a few players in this year's world championship who looked as if they were liking what they saw"
"It's a game of artistry...of making the cue ball talk"
On short races:
"You'll still get the best players winning...you're going to get alot of good players turned over...the end winner will be credible"
